Oh man, I should have held onto my Oxi one, I had it very early on and it kept freezing and crashing and irritated the hell out of me. Seems it’s grown to be a hell of a beast. Looking to get a sequencer again and finding myself choosing between the two, but it’ll probably be the deluge because it’s also a hell of drum machine and rompler too. At least from the last time I used the Oxi, surfing around the grid piano roll was much smoother with the deluge for me, but this was a while ago. The real answer is I shouldn’t have sold either hehe

I'm assuming, firstly you don't know how to play piano? Therefore this isn't going to matter as much to you? If you were a piano and a guitar player, this might not be on your "me no likey like like" Iist. The point isn't pulling up plug-ins live, the point is to records all the backing band material you need, with as much density on sound as you like, and having that on stage with you, as FINISHED projects to play the guitar, or the keys along with, BY YOURSELF so you didn't need anybody. You just have to record and save the songs at home. Play then on stage with your guitar hooked right into it, or play the keys. IT'S FUCKING BRILLIANT. Is it brilliant for playing along in a pointless improv jazz troop, taking their turns wanking off a bunch of solo's "alright Jim, walk her on home!" NO! IT'S NOT THANK GOD! Is it perfect for me, a multi-instrumentalist who loves to craft original songs, needs to play them live, and doesn't have time for all the flakey musicians and Craigslist fantasy bullshitters! YES! You are on par with many synth RUclipsrs in terms of information, knowledge and such, but you are next level with your sense of detail: In many situation you do exactly the right thing. if you mention how you have to keep re-adjusting the start point when previewing clips on the MPC, it's obvious that the best way to illustrate it is by showing how you do it on the MPC. This requires you to start up the MPC and record a clip of how it works. Not many would go that extra mile. You use two cameras and routinely switch eye contact from one camera to the other for cuts. It feels very thought out and I'm thoroughly impressed. You also boil the whole video down to something that contains the same information, but is 50% shorter than other similar Videos on RUclips. thanks for respecting our time. Your content is a delight to watch. An expensive delight, because now I'm looking for a Polyend Tracker - mostly to see if the workflow really is as good as it looks. Sample slicing, which is arguably the bread and butter of many producers' workflow, certainly seems to beat the Digitakt by a mile.

New to ableton want it to be my main daw should I get push 3 or two ? I honestly don’t need it I have maschine mk3 and an atom sq but I want the push 😂 my issue is I’m not really a click in the notes producer I like playing on the maschine but using maschine as a midi I can’t do note repeat iv figured out work around that help but it’s not the work flow im use to or are their any other midi controllers that work smooth with ableton 12 I can use where things like note repeat will Work ?

Is there a way to connect an electric bass guitar to it? Maybe with a midi converter?

Eventho i don’t own it yet, but from that what I heard and saw, this synth could top the Lyra 8 imo the greatest synth on this planet. Just can’t wait to get one under my hands.

Great and informative video! Difficult to compare to anything else i guess, which will turn the Astrolab into a giant succes i think.. Myself i'm using a looper(Roland rc-505) and a simple but efficient novation circuit tracks, so this really completes my setup. It's like you say in a different way: to have pleasure making/creating music you need to feel control over your setup so you can focus on that pleasure in stead of focussing on a whole procedure of things you need to keep an eye on.. Thanks for your passionate videos, keep them coming!

Can you review the Linnstrument? also why spend 300 on this when you can spend 200 on Serum? I think serum can do way more

Sorry, don't know if it was the recording or what but this synth does not sound good at all.

The ability to apply effects to a vocal via the mic input really makes the SP a great tool for live performances.

One question for everyone: is an XBOX or a PLAYSTATION an expensive toy? What makes something a toy or not is how the owner makes use of it, ever heard of an oil can bass guitar?

I really enjoy this style of video; it's a meaningful conversation to have when there is a lot of GAS out there in the world and a ton of choices. I would have liked to have seen the EP-133 on this list as well, because I do see it as a better device than some of the other ones; regardless, this video is awesome and I thank you for the content. the learning curve on the Tempest is So So steep if you want a clean mix

While I really liked the review, I can’t agree with the „not enough” buttons argument. m8 has phenomenally though out UX and Is very fast to learn basic operations (there is only couple of „Combos” that work similarly on every screen) and then - you don’t even need to think or look on the screen. The problem with too many buttons (like on Polyend) is that it is way more cumbersome to use. Both have learning curve, both are great in their own thing, but when talking about buttons - in my opinion M8 have an edge. I agree that they both crave different demographics - one (Polyeend) is based on classical Tracker experience (Fastracker, Noisetracker, Protracker etc), ie trackers existing on computers, while M8 is based on LSDJ (grom GameBoy) - those are totally different experiences and ideas behind. I personally think that m8 paradigm works better in portable form factor, but „traditional” trackers (ie Polyend Tracker) are easier to grasp for novices.

Hey, Since you also have/had the circuit rhythm, how to do like them both? I have the circuit rhythm and the only thing that really bothers me is the fact that patterns are limited to 32 steps and resolution is not great. Everything else seems to be better on the circuit rhythm: recording sample, resampling, probability, poly rhythm… What are your feelings?

If TE ever update the KO2 to allow me to properly mess with stuff via midi it will end up an integral part of my setup. At the moment I'm just using it as a drum sampler (sequenced from a Hapax), but I can only use 1 group at a time which is damn annoying.

I'm stuck between this or the UDO super gemini or the moog muse.. I hate decisions 😢

The original op1 was out for years - and te let a rumor distort the market to up the price. Synthstrom are a class act. Polyend did the dirty. I know what you're saying and it would be nice to be ethical but look at Te as an example. They let a rumor spread - said nothing and when people were tricked to buy at higher prices, the TE price went up. At no point did they look to quieten the rumor and they used it. Polyend could have done many things. In truth, many things but they didn't.
